שבחי הר״ן · חלק ראשון · אות י״ז

גם אמר שהזיווג של הצדיק האמת, קשה עליו עניין זה. ולא די שאין לו שום תאווה כלל, כי אם אדרבא יש לו ייסורין מזה ממש כמו ייסורי התינוק בשעת מילה. כי ממש ייסורין אלו יש להצדיק בשעת זווג ויותר מזה. כי התינוק אין לו דעת, על כן אין הייסורים שלו גדולים כל כך, אבל הצדיק שיש לו דעת ייסוריו גדולים מהתינוק. וזה היה אצלו דבר פשוט ואמר שכל אדם יכול לזכות לבוא למדרגה זו. וכפי הנראה מדבריו היה שקדושתו של עצמו גבוה עוד יותר ויותר.
