שבחי הר״ן · חלק ראשון · אות כ״ז

ועל כן אפילו המופתים הנוראים שראינו מרבנו, זכרונו לברכה, אין אנו עוסקים בזה לספרם. כי אין זה שבח אצלו כלל לפי עצם הפלגת מעלתו. רק ספרנו מה שנוגע לעבודתו יתברך, למען יתעורר המשכיל החפץ באמת. כי אין שום תרוץ בעולם וכל אדם יכול לזכות למעלות גבוהות אם ילך ויתנהג בדרכי רבנו, זכרונו לברכה, שמבוארים כאן בספר זה. והעיקר להיות רגיל מאד בתפלות ובקשות הרבה מאד ובפרט לדבר בינו לבין קונו בלשון שמדברים בו, להרבות בשיחה לפניו יתברך לרצותו ולפייסו יתברך ולהתחנן לפניו שיקרבו לעבודתו באמת. ודי בהערה זו לכל החפץ באמת.
