שיחות הר״ן · אות פ״ד

[הצער הקשה שבקבר] "ואל תאמר שהשאול והקבר בית מנוס לך" (אבות ד, כב), כי בעולם הזה שיש להאדם טרדות ועל הפרנסה, יכול להיות שיעקוץ וינשוך אותו פרעוש והוא לא ירגיש מחמת שמחשבתו טרודה באיזה מחשבה של פרנסה וכיוצא; אבל שם בקבר, שאז אין להאדם שום טירדה ושום מחשבה אחרת, אז הוא שומע אפילו הרחישה וההילוך של התולעים איך הם רוחשים ובאים אליו, ומרגיש הצער של כל נשיכה ונשיכה. ואין שום דבר שיטרידהו וימנעהו מגודל צערו הקשה, רחמנא ליצלן:
